Cultural Sensitivity Alert: Unauthorised Use of a Sombrero Emoji 🚨

Dear Valued Colleagues,

I hope this email finds you in a state of constant mindfulness and cultural enlightenment.

As the resident Cultural Sensitivity Officer, it is my solemn duty to ensure our workplace remains a paragon of cultural correctness. I'm writing to bring to your immediate attention an incident that has unfortunately occurred.

It has come to my attention that a certain individual (I shan't name names, as that would be insensitive) recently utilised the sombrero emoji in a work-related conversation.

While some might see this as an innocent gesture, I must emphasise that cultural appropriation, even in emoji form, is a grave matter.

As we all know, the sombrero is a traditional Mexican hat symbolising a rich cultural heritage.

The fact that it was used without proper consultation and appreciation for the complex historical and social context is unacceptable. We must all strive to be more aware and sensitive in our emoji choices.

To rectify this situation, we will be hosting an emergency sombrero sensitivity workshop next Tuesday in Conference Room B. You are all encouraged to attend and learn about the deep significance of sombreros in Mexican culture. Together, we shall strive to do better.
